I have run fundraising galas, charity auctions, and school carnivals for the past nine years, and one piece of gear that quietly decides whether the night goes smoothly is the receipt printer. When a donor hands you a credit card, the last thing you want is a jammed inkjet or a printer that needs Wi-Fi … Read more
I run a small nonprofit that hosts four fundraising auctions every year, and after years of writing handwritten receipts on clipboards, I invested in a dedicated thermal receipt printer. That single decision transformed our checkout line — donors walked away with crisp printed receipts in under five seconds, my volunteers stopped fielding “do you have … Read more
When I ran our church fall festival for the first time, I was the volunteer hunched over a folding table, scribbling raffle tickets by hand while a line of 30 people snaked behind me. Within an hour, I lost count, smeared ink on the donation envelopes, and lost two pledge cards. That is the moment … Read more
I’ve helped coordinate school fundraisers for the past 12 years, from PTA bake sales to church car washes, and I know the headache of tracking donations on scraps of paper. After our team tested 10 thermal receipt printers side by side over six weeks at three actual school events, I can tell you exactly which … Read more
I still remember the Sunday morning our church’s inkjet printer jammed mid-check-in, with 40 families in line and three flustered volunteers trying to clear a paper feed error. That was the day our team started testing thermal receipt printers specifically for volunteer check-in scenarios. Over the past three months, our team compared 8 thermal printers … Read more
I’ve been helping nonprofits and small event organizers pick portable printing gear for nearly a decade, and the question I hear most often is simple: which thermal receipt printer for mobile events actually survives a full day outdoors without dying? My team tested 8 models over three months, running them through farmers markets, charity walks, … Read more
Running a small nonprofit means every dollar and every volunteer minute matters. After spending three months testing thermal receipt printers at fundraising galas, silent auctions, and community events with our partner 501(c)(3) organizations, we know the best thermal receipt printers for small nonprofits do three things well: print fast, survive volunteer handling, and never need … Read more
If you run a coffee counter, a food truck, or a busy retail shop, the right thermal receipt printer changes everything about checkout speed. I spent the last three months rotating ten receipt printers through our test store, a small bakery, and a friend’s bar to see which models actually deliver when the line gets … Read more
Running a fundraising event means managing hundreds of details, and few are more visible than the name badges attendees wear all day. Pre-printing badges creates waste when registered guests don’t show up, while last-minute walk-ins leave you scrambling with Sharpies and blank stickers. After testing thermal label printers across multiple nonprofit events, our team found … Read more
When our nonprofit ran our first silent auction, we learned a hard lesson the morning of the event. The inkjet printer we borrowed jammed at lot 47, and we lost 90 minutes scrambling for a backup. Since then, I have tested thermal label printers across eight charity auctions for fundraising teams, churches, and school PTAs. … Read more
