When 50,000 people converge on a festival site, cell towers stop working within minutes. I learned this the hard way coordinating a charity 5K two summers ago, watching my team scramble with dead phones while the lead cyclist waited at a water station we could not reach. That weekend sent me down a multi-month rabbit … Read more
When our facilities team set up 280 chairs every Sunday morning for two years, I learned a hard lesson the third Sunday in: hauling a stack of six folding chairs across a fellowship hall tile floor will wear out a volunteer’s back faster than any sermon series. The fix was a proper church chair dolly, … Read more
Last summer I helped coordinate our church’s end-of-year festival. We had 80 people coming, a tight budget, and no idea what “giant yard games” actually meant beyond a vague Pinterest board. I spent three weekends testing inflatable bowling pins, oversized Jenga sets, and a sad cornhole kit that fell apart by the second match. By … Read more
After three summers organizing face painting booths at church festivals, community fairs, and our kids’ soccer tournaments, I’ve learned one hard truth: indoor face paint and outdoor face paint are completely different beasts. The water-activated palette that looked flawless at a birthday party melts, fades, and runs the moment a four-hour outdoor festival starts hitting … Read more
I have run fundraisers for everything from school PTOs to regional nonprofits, and I can tell you from experience: the backdrop decides whether the photo lives on Instagram for six months or gets deleted before the car ride home. A great backdrop turns every guest into a brand ambassador for your cause, and a weak … Read more
I’ve helped plan photo booths for nonprofit galas, school fundraisers, and charity walks for more than six years, and I can tell you this: the props you put in that basket decide whether guests spend 30 seconds at the booth or three minutes. Photo booth props for fundraising events are the handheld, wearable, and sign-style … Read more
I’ve organized fundraising galas for nonprofit teams in three different states, and the single piece of equipment that always makes the biggest visual difference is a reliable backdrop stand. When donors step in front of a polished step-and-repeat banner or a clean fabric backdrop, your event instantly looks more professional, photos get shared more on … Read more
After helping plan donor dinners and walkathons for two community nonprofits, I learned one lesson fast: the best step and repeat banners for fundraising events are the difference between a forgettable photo op and a sponsor magnet that pays for itself in social shares. We ordered, unboxed, and stress-tested eight setups over six weeks, checking … Read more
Finding the best feather flags for outdoor events changed how our team handles trade shows, farmers markets, and grand openings. After watching countless vendors struggle with limp banners in 15 mph breezes, we spent 90 days testing 10 top kits side-by-side at three real outdoor events. The verdict is clear: a quality feather flag with … Read more
I have set up more than a dozen outdoor festivals, church fundraisers, and farmer’s market booths over the last three years, and I can tell you the right A-frame sign makes or breaks the event. Pick the wrong one and a 25 mph gust sends your message onto the pavement; pick the right one and … Read more
